Where it all begin…

The photo below was one of the very first ones taken with my very first digital camera at Montauk Point, a trip I took while visiting my brother at Stony Brook for the very first time. Not bad from a Canon Point and Shoot. I must say, that it was probably purely accidental that it came out this nice. Surely it led me to believe that I was somehow gifted, a natural photographer even.
The Tree

I was then later reassured by the following photo taken soon after:
The Sky
Now I was confident. “YEAH,” I told myself, “This is it.”

That was 3 or 4 years ago– I don’t remember. I was right about myself though. It was purely accidental that everything just came together the way that it did– at the right time and place, with the right subject.

I have learn a lot about photography since those first experimental days. One piece of advice that I want to share is this: Never just let things happen by chance. Though sometimes, you could get a nice picture by accident. However, if you just give a little direction and planning to your shots, you’ll get the shots you want.

Although, film isn’t an expense factor with digital photography, getting the right photo equipment still costs an arm and a leg… and an eye… and a dog. Being the starving artist that I am, I’ve since made a nice profit from selling stock photos like these, among many others, to fund my photography addiction.
