The Return of Yiuphotography

Post by fotolistic on January 15th, 2011   In Category : Photography

Can you believe I haven’t publish anything on yiuphotography.com for 6 months? So what’s been happening to me?

Aside from not having any new posts up, I’m also guilty of not visiting yiuphotography.com. I’ve been gone too long. The feeling is almost as foreign as returning to high school after being away for years. I’ve forgotten what my website looks like. I didn’t even recognize my own photography style. I should be ashamed.

So what’ve I been doing with my time instead? I’m very proud to say that I’m now a married man. Married to my Annie Cok and whom I’m very proud to call my wife. Annie’s been by my side since the beginning of my photography venture. Which also happened to be the main reason for my absence– planning a wedding is no joking matter. We basically (and painstakingly at times) designed our entire wedding from handmade paper bouquets to the typeface for our invitations. In the end, we made our artsy-fartsy wedding dreams come true. I’ll save that story for another post.

Just weeks after our beautiful wedding, we had to put much of our life everything aside to arrange funeral services for a death in the family. It’s been a very tough time for all of us, a stark contrast to our happy event just weeks prior. Some time has passed and all seems a little brighter once again in these early weeks of 2011, especially as the Lunar New Year celebration soon approaches us in the month of February.

Here’s a post that I started months back but never published. This is The Queens Farm Museum. Back in August, Annie and I were scouting out locations for our engagement shoot. We liked the under-the-sun-outdoor garden atmosphere very much. We agreed that an engagement session at a farm would be in-line with our theme. We took some test shots during out visit and here are some of the shots we came back with.

First thing we saw when we walked in was this cute little furball.
This photo made her look a lot more ferocious than she is.
She’s actually no larger than a Big Mac.

What a cute thing she is, Annie wanted to take her home.

Reflections in a candy jar.

Chili pepper plants.

All the kids were having a mid-summer field day there.

These kids had no fear of their little fingers accidentally getting bitten off.

Alright, some test shots. My only model at the moment.

Don’t you just love sunflower fields?

The NBC mascot was there too.

Here’s the KFC mascot. Well they could have use him instead of Colonel Sanders.

I’ve shot as many as 100 photos of this moo. Don’t know why I’m so intrigue by this animal.
Maybe because I was hungry? Or maybe I was thinking of getting some Outback.

Meeeeeaa… I’m Little Richie.

I’ll finish off with some other details of the farm, including the gift shop.
