Congratulations to my cousin Kerrie and her new husband, Z.J. This has to be the wedding everyone in the family has been looking forward to. Kerrie, is the first girl of all the kids to be given away, her mom and dad (my aunt and uncle), couldn’t be more proud. I think that Grandma and Granddad would’ve been very proud too since she was always their favorite.
Their wedding day couldn’t have been any more perfect. Beautiful weather. Slightly cloudy, which is actually the best picture-taking lighting condition that a photographer could ask for. The atmosphere was as festive as anyone could imagine a wedding could be.
We were rolling in fun, laughter, and plenty of silliness the whole night through. We goofed off most of the time and no one got stressed when things didn’t go as planned. I LOVE my family.
This is the story of Kerrie and Z.J.’s special day.
All photographs were shot in Raw Format with my Canon 50D.
Lens used: 16mm – 35mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4 Lens and 85mm 1.8.
ISO range use from 100 to 400, from outdoor to indoor.
Post processed with Aperture and Photoshop CS4.
The Wedding Band…

Wedding Shoes…

Wedding Dress…

…It’s a wedding. And it’s Kerrie and ZJ’s special day.

The day started with the Chinese tradition of the groom and his groomsmen
barging, or rather, buying their way into the bride’s home and doing everything the army of bridesmaids asked them to do.

Here’s Z.J. looking all charismatic and confident as he is getting ready for final negotiations so they could allow him to enter the bride’s bedroom.
Red envelope in one hand and the bride’s bouquet in the other.

Hmmm… the flavors of marriage. ZJ must drink all these shots containing concentrated flavor of salty, sweet, sour and bitterness to show that he is ready to enter his new life as a married man.

And… without any hesitation at all, he downs the first shot.

His groomsmen also stepped in to help.

At last, still standing after those crazy shots.
But now, he is in his finally batter into the brides room.
He will need to buy his way in with his last red envelope.

However, the red envelope didn’t work out as he thought.
So he pulled out his last and final trick, the sad puppy look.

Which actually did the trick!
Now we move onto the tea ceremony and the gifts from the parents.

These are Kerrie’s parents. See how happy they look.

Shots of the newlyweds with my parents, Kerrie’s uncle and aunt.

Off to the Queens Botanical Garden for their wedding ceremony.
ZJ is waiting outside of the limousine as Kerrie prepares for her walk down the aisle with her father.

He looks ready.

And… here she is. She looks beautiful. No wonder Z.J. is so happy.

The ceremony is about to start. The groomsmen and the bridesmaids are all lining up to enter the garden.

The ring bearer and the flower girl.

And here she comes with her father by her side.

A few shots which highlights all the details of the ceremony.

And you may kiss the bride…

Before heading down to the banquet hall, I got a couple of portraits of Kerrie after the ceremony.

They kicked off the banquet celebration with some of the funniest and
most elaborate first dances featuring the wedding party and even some antics from their parents.
Seems like everyone there is a party animal.

Kerrie and ZJ’s first dance.

I’ll finish this part of the album with a toast from Kerrie and Z.J.
Stay tuned for Part Two of this album where I will include photos of everyone else.
