Most folks will shake their heads when dark clouds hover over a wedding event. I, on the other hand, couldn’t have asked for better lighting conditions for this photo opportunity.
Here are some of them.

Finally, I was able to make it out on a Photo Shoot hosted by Portrait Photography photo group from facebook. The theme for this shoot was some what like Sex in the City.
Has been a while since I was out on a shoot. Had a really good time, and met a few fellow photographers and pretty models.
Models featured below:
• Angela Zhu
• Bingjie Liu
• Wei Lin
One model of which I do not know her name so I can’t give her credit.
All photographs were shot in Raw Format with my Canon 50D.
I used either a 85mm f/1.8 Lens or the 50mm f/1.4 Lens at ISO200.
Post processed with Lightroom and Photoshop
This is Angela Zhu’s shoe. Very nice.

And here is Angela Zhu. Like a celebrity in disguise.

This is Bingjie, she was our model for almost the entire shoot. We told her to pose by the lit trees and smile.
And that’s what she did, smiling at the trees.

Catching one of the photographer in action. Willian Eng

This is another fellow photography Su-lynn Chen.
Hmmm. She was nice enough to lend me 1 buck to for some ice cream. I was low on cash that day.

And here’s Wei Lin. Couldn’t get much photos of any other models because there were just too many photographers.

Sorry, I don’t know the name of this model. We had only a brief moments together to shoot.

Here is another side of photographer Willian Eng. He’s actually not angry looking in real life.
Just so happen I was shooting while he was making his face. Or maybe I just stepped on his foot by accident

And here a portrait of Su-lynn Chen. I owe her 1 dollar.

This post is more than a month overdue. My bad! This is my first time attending the annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival. Just moved to Forest Hills, Queens a few month ago and Flushing Meadow Corona Park is basically right in my back yard. No excuse not to attend and cheer my cousin and her fiance on as they speed through the dragonboat races. Every year, rain or shine, these races always attract a wide range of athletes and spectators from all over.
Though it was a two day long event, I was only able to attend the first day. Fortunately, I was able to snag myself a press pass which gave me access to the boathouse and a seat on the chase boat– which got me some great close ups of the boats while the race was on.
Here are some of the photos.
Please visit Yiuphotography Gallery Store to view the entire album and to purchase prints. Purchasing prints from my Gallery Store will help support my photography work and website. Thank you.
All photographs were shot in Raw Format with my Canon 50D.
I used either a 85mm f/1.8 Lens or a 50mm f/1.4 Lens, 100 ISO.
Post processed with Aperture.

Some of the more unusual spectators.
This little pooch was the size of a Big Mac. It’s owner was the size of Shaquille O’Neal.

Some potential Dragon Boat racers for the future. Maybe.

This one has a front row seat to all the action.

Some of the members on my cousin’s team.
Note: This is not my cousin.

Here is my cousin, Kerrie. Her back at least.

Kerrie and her fiance, ZJ. Soon to be newlyweds. Congrats in advance.

Getting really for their race. Everyone is looking very serious.

Except for Kerrie who is only there for the fun. JK
I’m already on the chase boat right next to the starting line.
Suddenly, it was silence everywhere. Except for the noise from the plane flying over us.

The sounding of the horn marks the beginning of the race.
So does the synchronize drumming of each of the Dragon Boat.
Fierce was in the air.

The gunshot-like sound of the drum was so loud, all the geese on the pond were quickly scared away.
(These are Canada Geese, just did a google search for them)

Some of the spectators from the shore line.

My cousins team in action.

After they crossed the finish line.

Back to the boathouse to get washed up.

Some members of the other competing teams.
