This was my first time actually trying to catch the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks show live. Not watching from a TV– live! I was psyched. This year’s fireworks were held on my Hudson River. Got there early and grabbed a nice spot. Set up the tripod, at just the right angle facing upriver and just waited for the fireworks to begin. However, I did not anticipate that as soon as the fireworks began, everyone would stand up… in front of me… overshadowing the height of my tripod. I was really upset. Cuz I was planning to shoot long exposures of 5 to 10 seconds and handheld isn’t an option. I was so looking forward of capturing some really nice fireworks shot. And it was all ruined in a split second.
But anyway, no need to be bitter over it. Here’s what I was able to capture in this 4th of July. Took a few shot of Annie. Annie took a few shots of me. I also took some shot of this cute little girl eating her ice cream cone.
All photographs were shot in Raw Format with my Canon 50D.
I used either a 16mm – 35mm f/2.8 L Lens or the 85mm f/1.8 Lens, 200 ISO.
Post processed with Aperture and Photoshop CS4.
