George and his band rocks.
One of my facebook friends asked if I can shoot George and his band for him. Of course, I said yes. Low light photography has always been a fav on my to do list of photo challenges. The result was quite nice. Can you feel the energy of the band from the photos?
Prior to the band’s performance, I experimented with some unique flash diffusion techniques. Simple really, I basically used my own hand as the diffuser and the result was very artistic. More examples of that later, in yet another post.
All photographs were shot in Raw Format with my Canon 50D along with my off-camera speedlite 430ex.
I used a “snoot” for some of the photographs for that spot lighting effect.
I used either a 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.8 Lens for this event. ISO at 400 at 1/10 – 1/30 of a second.
Post processed with Aperture only.

I’m so happy to have the honor of attending Lizzie and Hoa Tang’s wedding banquet. This was such a happening wedding– The DJ and MC were great and kept up the entertainment vibe the entire night. I’ve got tons of photos and really, it was super fun just to be a part of the celebration. Yes, I had slacked off a little from shooting and boogied down with everyone else on the dance floor.
When Lizzie tossed the bouquet with such gusto, all the single ladies watched wistfully as it sailed over their heads and landed right by…Annie’s feet. So she picked it up and everyone cheered in anticipation. Now… I definitely had no choice to make a go at catching the garter belt. Eagerly, I kind of snatch it out of Hoa’s hand before he even could throw it; but joking aside, I handed it back to him for a fair toss. (Sorry Hoa, I didn’t want Annie hurting anyone else but me while slipping that garter belt on her ankle. She is highly prone to involuntary acts of kicking due to extreme ticklishness)
To the beat of Beyonce’s Crazy in Love, I danced toward Annie, shaking my behind up and down the whole time, got on my knees and used my teeth to put that garter on. How’s that for a show! However, since I was on a role, I was unable to photograph myself in action. Photographic evidence gathered by other photographers will be posted at a later date! And of course, everyone was laughing their heads off over the whole fiasco. Glad it was fun for all…
Anyway, here’s the documentation from my camera of this great night!

It’s that time again when I’m feeling my creative bones aching for some kind of design project to keep my brain from rusting. It is the curse of being a designer. Constantly gotta reassure ourselves that we still got it.
Anyway, I foresee big changes and conglomeration of my two websites, yello77.com and yiuphotography.com. As I’m becoming more and more active in photography work, and less and less interested in designing projects (with the exception of those that are commissioned), I think it’s time to devote my weblog solely to the development of my photography business. On that note, yello77.com weblog will be migrating over to yiuphotography.com, replacing it’s existing static site.
As yiuphotography.com will be my new weblog, I am retaining yello77.com for a future project one day. I must admit, it is a catchy url.
As for the design of the new yiuphotography weblog, I’m thinking black and white with a hint of color, with an extremely simple layout. I’m always a fan of simplicity and function. The yiuphotography.com logo will also be rebranded using a whole new attitude and font.
I can’t wait to finish this new project! Hopefully it will be up in less than 2 months. In the mean time, yello77.com will still serve as my weblog until the new website is up.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming soon.

These shots are sooooo cool Hoyu. These guys seem like they can really rock! I particularly liked the first guy on the guitar in different hue’s. Very artistic. Awesome!
